How we work

We go where the work happens.

Rockpoppy works inside operational businesses to understand how leadership actually functions, not just how it looks on an organization chart.

The approach

Independent, on the ground, and candid.

We spend time with the people doing the work, observe the operation, ask difficult questions and identify the strengths, vulnerabilities and leadership risks that are difficult to see from the top.

Because we're independent, people talk to us differently than they talk to their own chain of command. Because we're not there to sell you a technical fix, we can tell you plainly what we found.

A typical engagement

From first conversation to follow-through

  1. Conversation

We talk through what you want to understand, which parts of the operation to look at and what a useful outcome looks like.

  2. On the ground

Time spent where the work happens: yards, sites, shop floors, terminals or back-of-house, watching how the operation really runs.

  3. Private conversations

One-to-one discussions with frontline employees, supervisors, managers and senior leaders. Findings are reported as themes, not attributed to individuals.

  4. Making sense of it

We test what we heard against what we saw, and identify the patterns, gaps and risks that matter most.

  5. Report and debrief

A clear written report organized into sections you can act on, with specific actions, followed by a debrief with your leadership.

  6. Follow-through

Where it helps, we support your leaders as they work through the actions, and come back to check progress.

Then we tell you what we found, and what we think you should do about it.
